"Sid the Sasquatch is a beautiful, inspiring, and poetic story about friendship, love, and acceptance, a story that every child in this generation should read. Wendy Elliott's book is wonderful and it paints a beautiful world for kids. I read this book with my five year old son, and he now talks about Sid and Ollie as if they lived next door. He was amazed by the pictures. The illustrations are very appealing, and the poetry rings through the ears like soothing music."

I read it to my kiddos tonight before bed to see what they thought. They loved it! And, as a mom trying to teach my children about kindness and accepting everyone -- this book was right up my alley. Love that Sid's author is from KC. Love that a portion of the proceeds from every book sold will go to Children's Mercy, and to the JDRF Foundation. If you are shopping for a fun book about friendship and acceptance for younger readers, I definitely recommend Sid the Sasquatch. The story follows young Sid, a curious sasquatch who learns that most differences are only skin deep. The rhymed text makes reading the book aloud especially enjoyable for kids and adults alike. Both my kiddos like looking at all the whimsical and intricate illustrations. My kids and I give Sid the Sasquatch an enthusiastic stamp of approval. Sid the Sasquatch takes a new angle to that same old lesson, and in a way that speaks to children without exasperating adults. Between the melodic writing and the beautifully illustrated pages, I can see this joining the regular rotation of reading at our house. - Jen Wise (SciFi4Me.com)
The illustrations of this book are as warm and heartfelt as the story itself. A perfect merging of the two into one great effect. In a time when differences are tearing apart, this simple story flows with a soft, rhyming reminder of the joys and treasures that can be found when we choose to come together. Sid is faced with an awkward moment - will he face it with past knowledge and fear, or judge it in its moment and the kindness that appears? We all come to such moments in life. And we can all follow Sid's lead in finding new ways of dealing with them. - Darleen Wohlfeil (Story Monsters Ink)

Kids everywhere love Sid!
My son is not one to sit well at all, but he sat and listened to the entire book. He loved it! He even asked questions about the page that shows how we are all the same on the inside. Such a great illustration of how we should all think… especially in this day and age.

What an amazing book! Wendy Elliott captured the true spirit of friendship and embracing differences...while showing readers we really are all the same. I bought this book to give to a close friend’s son. I am going to buy a couple more copies to give to my friends who teach kindergarten....great book!!! – A. My Daughter loves this book so much. We read it about three times every night. Such a cute story. Very well written. - Amy B. (Kansas City area resident)
Great for children’s imagination, being friends though different was a nice story line, and a cute story that doesn’t make Bigfoot scary. I taught school and this book would have been in my classroom. My Grandson loved it. We enjoy building an imagination and working the skills of what can be done with such imagination. The rhyming in it was also very nice. If your questioning buying it, I’d say go for it. It is not a long book, but long enough to be enjoyed being read 2x in a row. – Amazon Review
