Give the gift of reading this holiday season! I want to thank Katy and the rest of the staff at ABC Preschool for allowing me the pleasure of reading to these wonderful children on Tuesday. I knew it was going to be a good day when one sweet little girl started the visit out by raising her hand to tell me she loved me. haha Thankfully, she still loved me after I read Sid the Sasquatch too. ;) Such a sweetheart!
As you all know, Sid loves to give back! Last month, Wendy Elliott was contacted by Trish Carcopa about sponsoring Planet D diabetic camp experiences. The idea of helping kids with juvenile diabetes go to camp and enjoy the same camp experiences as their peers really got her excited. So, along with Children's Mercy Cancer Center and JDRF, Wendy will now be donating a portion of proceeds from book sales to the American Diabetes Association to help send kids with juvenile diabetes to the Planet D Camp in 2017. To find out more about Planet D you can click on the picture below. To help, simply order a book and you will provide donations to all three great organizations.
A message from the author:
"I had a wonderful time at the USL Western Conference Finals on Saturday! The icing on the cake was watching the Swope Park Rangers (https://www.facebook.com/SwopeParkRangers) defeat the Vancouver Whitecaps 3-0 and advance to the Finals! Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hi and to those of you who took Sid home with you. I met some wonderful people from the JDRF family as well... another bonus! I love meeting the families of the people Sid helps with his donations. A big thank you to the Swope Park Rangers for having me out and for the great pictures they took of me and Sid at the game." Do you BELIEVE? Sporting KC's Swope Park Rangers take on the Vancouver Whitecaps in the USL Western Conference Finals this Saturday (10/15)! Bring the whole family for this fun night and come out to root on KC's favorite USL team! While you're there, stop by and say hi to Wendy Elliott who will be there signing books. This is a great opportunity to grab a photo with Sid the Sasquatch and maybe run into another Sasquatch (Hat Trick Harry) while you're there!
